Happy holidays to everyone celebrating and a happy December to those who don’t! Here’s a writing prompt to match the season.

Think back on your favorite holiday memory. It can even be one from a warmer holiday, if that’s where your mind goes. Think about the emotions you were feeling, how everything around you looked, and what the moment felt like to both the senses and the heart. Use those memory pieces to write down what happened, but do so from an object’s point of view.

For example: write about opening up your favorite childhood gift from the perspective of the gift itself or about skating on a frozen pond from the perspective of the inflatable elf on your neighbor’s lawn
